Royal Visit at University of Aalborg

On July 27 2004 His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth visited Aalborg.

During their stay they had the opportunity to visit Center for Sensory-Motor Interaction at Aalborg University.

Professor Sinkjær (founder of Neurodan A/S) presented the centre's internationally reknowned research within Motor Control, Sensory Systems and Rehabilitation Techniques. HRH Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth voluntered for a demonstration of applying low voltage electricity to nerves in order to produce a movement. This technique is central to the neuro-rehabilation products under development at Neurodan A/S.

Jørgen Knudsen, who has used the ActiGait® drop foot system for 5 years, demonstrated his improved walking capacities for the royal couple. Jørgen Knudsen suffered a stroke in 1994 and has right-side hemiplegia, resulting in a drop foot.
